The biggest problem here is the idea that a national press campaign and the threat of lawsuits are a reasonable way of dealing with a problem on a publically editable wiki! This notion is so irrational that one suspects John Seigenthaler of taking advantage of the opportunity because he wanted to launch a broder attack on the Internet. You gunna sue me for suggesting that, John? Go ahead. Make my fucking day.

He might, but he's still a clueless moron.

This isn't the first time something ludicrous has been put up on Wikipedia, nor will it be the last time, nor was it the most egregiously wrong thing that's been posted up there.

I'd like to remind everyone that shortly after Katrina hit and New Orleans was flooding, someone made a rather Romero-esque entry to the section for New Orleans telling people what to do about the undead roaming the streets after their graves had been flooded out. It took all of about an hour for someone to notice that, see it for what it was, and flip those changes back out.

Sig just doesn't know how to use a Wiki is all. ...and of course, if they can't figure out how to use it, it's got to be eeeeevil!
