I don't know how serious you were about that last comment, but there's a logical flaw in that argument. Just because HappyNews is vapid and useless (so you say) doesn't mean that it's an inherent characteristic of a good-news-only news organization.

Ok, I'll grant that flaw in my argument exists and is valid. But I believe the unstated conclusion is true regardless of my flawed premise: If you focus only on "happy" news, you can't possibly have a realistic world view.
