If not pleased... perhaps "relieved". He was the favorite because he both has the credentials as well as the credentials Bush seems to care about -- close advisor. There was concern that Bush might go with someone else in his inner circle -- chief of staff, or something. But the Administration is smarter than that -- they're all very rich, and while you can futz with the deficit... ruining the capital markets would be very very bad for them. Even just nominating someone without total respect could be disasterous. Let me repeat: Justice, Constitutional law -- who cares? Agenda good. Financial markets -- CRAP! Look sharp people!
