East Coast Maps for "An End to Global Warming"
These maps are not something to be taken seriously on face. The premise is correct, that a rise in sealable would be devastating. However, these outlines of the shore are not likely to be even remotely correct. The movement and creation of barrier islands is not accounted for at all. In the event of sea-level rising, the coastline would not be this clean. Border islands would form, driven by the forces of storms. Some coasts would be built up by the inflow of material during storms, others eroded. Not all coastlines are created equal. The forces that create them are very complex. Sea level is not the only thing that defines a coast, just the driving force. Nature does amazing things over time. |
