Sedition Act of 1918 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
by Jamie at 8:37 am EDT, Sep 30, 2005

The Sedition Act of 1918 was an amendment to the Espionage Act of 1917. The Sedition Act forbade an American to use "disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language" about the United States government, flag, or armed forces. The act also allowed the Postmaster General to deny mail delivery to dissenters.

Ah this sux - it was repealed in 1921. At non-wartime I'm all for bashing everything and everyone - at wartime however I am not. This is my whole entire problem with liberals ( of which I actually used to be one, used to vote democrat all the way down the ballots - until Clinton came around and ruined everything for me regarding the Dems )..

Hrm... It says:

Whoever, when the United States is at war, shall willfully utter, print, write or publish any disloyal, or abusive language about the form of government of the United States or the Constitution of the United States,

Does that mean we could start arresting Conservative Christians for proposing constitutional amendments respecting homosexuals and abortion, and railing against the fact that "activist" judges in the supreme court can declare laws pass by the "more democratic" legislature unconstitutional?

Yes, if it is found that such criticism is disloyal to the United States of America during wartime - and I agree, burn em' at the stake!
