Maybe DNS will fade into irrelevance between search and bad management (ICANN). I've started to think that it is maybe bad design that end users ever see hostnames.

This is an interesting idea, but how do you communicate to someone how to find an internet location in print in a way that is not tied to a specific vendor like "AOL Keyword:Memestreams."
