Natural gas hike of 70% possible

As oil field workers report natural gas bubbling from broken pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico, the U.S. Department of Energy predicted Wednesday that tightening supplies this winter could increase household expenditures for natural gas by about 70 percent, compared to last winter.

This is bad - its a far off threat but there's going to be poor people and old people that will be forced to sacrifice either food or heat to make ends meet on social security as well as those in lower paying jobs, the working poor. |

...and yet it would still be cheaper than gasoline. |
