This is an extremely narrow minded statement. If something is finically successful, it does not put and end to my right to have a differing opinion about it. It also does not mean that my opinion is politically, racially, or ideologically motivated. I think that Spielberg movies are overrated, are you going to try and label me anti-semitic now? As for The Passion.. I went to Catholic school for 6 years. I liked the book better. I was not impressed by The Passion any more than Gibson's version of Hamlet, which is to say not much. Signs was also successful, but that does not stop it from being a heaping load of shit. The reason I didn't like it had nothing to do with the main character being a reverend. It had to do with the lack of a single engaging moment aside from one cheap scare, and an ending that made me want to sleep. Its my opinion that this movie is going to be another carbon copy of Gibson's o-so-successful historical loads of shit. It will sit nicely between The Patriot and Braveheart in someone else's movie collection. I don't hate money, Christians, or Conservatives. I hate Mel Gibson moves. |
