Police acknowledged on Saturday the man they shot dead on Friday was not connected to bomb attacks on the British capital the previous day, calling the shooting tragic and regrettable.
Awesome. Dude walks out of a block of flats where a lot of Islamic people live wearing a coat. Acts funny. They shoot him 5 times in the head. Apparently he was innocent. |

Huh, guilty of what? Details are sketchy but it is certainly not outside the realm of possibility that he had no idea the guys in plain clothes threatening him with guns were police. I assumed, when this story originally came out, that the police had some afirmative reason for thinking that the guy was connected with the bombings. Turns out they had absolutely no idea who he was. He is just some guy who walked out of an apartment building. The fact that he is dead represents a serious breakdown of proceedure. They made an assumption based on thin evidence and they killed someone and it turns out that assumption was wrong. |
