I'm not sure I knew that Alan Kay was at HPL ... last I'd heard -- probably a number of years stale, now -- he was at Disney Imagineering.

He was only at Disney a brief time. Speculation was that he thought that the work they were doing was a joke and headed back to the Valley. HP had been actively recruiting him for awhile.

Current rumour (just got back from SF this week) is that he will return to Apple, but I can't see that happening.
