I agree with Palidrome: a 20-year teaching veteran is bound to have a pretty clear sense of what and how subjects need to be taught, regardless of the specific methodology. Back to the powerpoint, however, I would have been more interested in it if it had continued on to actually develop the curriculum which is the crux of the problem, instead of lecturing on how it could be done. Even sticking with just the first few grades would have illustrated his point better AND, as my educational experience has taught me, a case study is always more effective for remembering salient points than 76 slides of colored fonts.
