In fact, I am not even a homophobe. Rather, I have no special love for the gay community. They are pathetic and an insult to homosexuals. How many kids have struggled with sexuality issues only to come out of the closet and into the hands of a parade of freaks and losers that make up the gay community. Most gay people that I know hate the gay community with as much vehemence as I do. The community means to marginalize themselves, militarize themselves and then force gays to conform. This reinforces homophobic passions in middle America. I have utmost respect for friends of mine who happen to be gay. I find them neither amusing nor interesting because of their sexual preference and I NEVER refer to them as "my gay friends." They are simply my friends. Anyone who characterizes themselves by what they choose to have sex with is an idiot. My lack of regard for human life is endearing, by the way. Too many people speak of this sanctity of life. It's played out. Some folks simply deserve institutionalization and death. Not necessarily homosexuals. But some people definitely deserve it.
Though you may not think of your gay friends as gay, that does not make them straight. You act like being gay is a bad thing, in fact by what you wrote, it seems that you want to ignore the fact that your friends are gay. I agree with you in that you should not label your friends. (Example: Hey, this is my gay friend Bob) That would be shitty. However, they are still gay, and your gay friends do make up part of the gay community. Now, I never cared for the extremely militant people, gay OR straight, but to refer to the gay community as a parade of freaks and losers is just wrong. Yes, there are freaks, yes there are losers, but there are freaks and losers in EVERY group of people. I also believe that in the case of "Steve" (the guy that the "Nashville Scene" article was written about), he was targeted BECAUSE he was gay, and he committed no crime. I do not think that gay people should get special privileges. I think that EVERYONE should be treated equally. However, when the police department targeted ONLY gay chat rooms, that was unjust and unfair. RE: World's Greatest Poster Award - given to Vile |
