From what I understand, Fox has retained rights to two further motion pictures before any new episodes can be created. Note, that I have not seen anyone mention that those rights were sold to SciFi, but the implication that they were is there if they retained certain other rights. From that, its not a terribly dangerous move. They will cash in on any market penetration SciFi gains for them in a movie release. My supposition is that movies produce a much larger profit margin than telivision advertising, especially for a SciFi or Fox based rerun series. RE: Firefly picked up by SciFi Channel |
