Oddly enough the Daleks return to the new series again this coming week... although they were all thought to be destroyed, they're back... The torture reference might pass by some people who haven't seen the 2005 series in which a Dalek IS captured and tortured - even by the Doctor. The new series is quite quite brilliant, and in fact a worthy successor to the earlier Doctors AND to the Hitchhikers Guide (not the film...!). Douglas Adams orked on Dr Who before HHG. If you're into well written, well acted, "childrens" sci-fi with a human and humourous face, this is the one. Having said that, on a recent BBC arts talk programme one person (the "US representative") just didn't get it. The special effects weren't good enough, she said. No, true. It's no Star Wars - thank goodness. Instead it has a good script, good actors, excellent plot lines, tremendous humour, real pathos ... just little throwaways dismissed by some dulled by too much CGI ... Enjoy! RE: Hello, Reality?
