Jollarian Bar Guide for Lefties in Atlanta by Decius at 1:58 am EDT, Jun 3, 2005 |
This started as a response to someone who told me that Atlanta was cool as long as you stay north. Well thats fascist bullshit. Cause all the good bars are south of ponce (sopo). Here's the Jollarian Bar Guide for Lefties in Atlanta:
I highly endorse this bar list. There are a few I'd add, and a few on here I haven't been to. I'd also drop the leftie designation having gotten drunk at the Yacht Club a few weeks ago with a decidedly Republican and his collection of birthday revelers. |

Wow, I think I did good in that it's been 5+ years since I lived in Atlanta and have been to over 25% of these. I hated the Buckhead bars after living so close to them for a year. The Yacht Club was always a fun place, but I also enjoyed one not on the list that's just a block too far north - The Highland Pub. Interesting tidbit - HugMe has been kicked out of the Clairmont Lounge. Not for touching the strippers, but deciding that he wanted to get on stage and strip, too. |

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I met that guy. Hahahahahaha!! The only other kick-outable offense is having sex in the bathrooms... that made it into the review cause I know two people who ashamedly admitted this happening to them. |

You can meet republicans at any of these... maybe not so much Lenny's. Alas, those are the political climes of our times, and the composition of Gen X (I think you got me into Generations, actually) dictates that there's lots about. But the people are predominantly left. You can for instance usually be openly for obviously righteous policies... like anti-death penalty, without a blink of an eye, when speaking to females. C&B's is my personal favorite in a sense. Not because its got a particularly great environment or anything... but because I seem to get alot of free stuff there. Things I've gotten there free: Tickets to Slayer, Pick ups by MILFs, Tickets to World Series, and a DUI. Its charmed. My personal favorites are Lenny's, 97 Estoria, and O'Terrils. There was a time when I spent hundreds a week in the Gravity pub and Mary's. But all on the list are acceptable spots for a self-respecting Leftie to intoxicate. |

Here's the Jollarian Bar Guide for Lefties in Atlanta: I'm serious, these are Atlanta's best bars, in no particular order. Believe me, I have done thorough research. Try not to be lame by going up North: [snip] I'd like to collaborate with someone on putting together a list like this for Nashville...
