Relativism would constantly shift faith to and fro, so it's impractical. That is not intrinsically a bad thing. They are a religion and they believe what they believe. I'd rather respect a religion that sticks with its supposed beliefs (even if it is mickey mouse bullshit) than change them because some assholes within think they know more than the central diety (which probably caused all the messes within spiritual religion anyway).
