Sure, grabbing a few minutes of ] connectivity is convenient, but identity thieves are ] discovering that, through "evil twin" attacks, hotspots ] are a great way to steal unsuspecting users' private ] information. What is fun about this attack is that to an outsider, the technically difficult parts are the easy ones, and the easy ones are the technically difficult. Access point /jacking/ -- filtering content through -- sounds easier to pull off than access point /spoofing/. But either way, the inability to track the signal means that even if you give the gig up, it can be hard to figure out whodoneit. |
