This would seem to me a profoundly bad choice. Xboxes certainly haven't destroyed the Playstation. Furthermore, Apple's ipod is certainly vulnerable to the right competition. In fact, Apple's stock dropped today due to the threat that Sony's MP3 players present.

In the world of the long tail allowing big content interests to dominate your consumer electronics strategy seems suicidal.
