I know this wasn't directed at me but I'm going to respond anyway. Thats ridiculous. I'm not trying to pass a law preventing them from believing in their religious views. No one is trying to force their churches to perform homosexual marriages. By crafting a law which imposes what is fundamentally a religious belief about marriage upon the people they are attacking the freedom of religion. It will literally be illegal for people to hold different religious views about marriage then they do. I make no argument about their beliefs right or wrong. I argue only that I ought to have the freedom to come to my own conclusions, and that cannot occur when their beliefs are legislated. RE: Salon.com News | 'Homosexuals are hellbound!' |
