If I had to give the debate to someone, I'd give it to Kerry, though marginally. The Democrats didn't declare a draw, the analysts did. And to score for Bush the arguement over abortion is laughable. Bush weakly professed a stupid, black and white view of an issue which Kerry clearly demonstrated was far more complex. Its a standard political ploy: Propose law A which no one could oppose, attach fine text B which is totally unacceptable, claim opponents are against A, refuse to discuss B. People pull that kind of crap all the time in Washington and its disgusting. Bush tried here, and fell on his face, in front of the entire country. Did Saffire fall for it? I doubt it.
