What they neglect to mention in the article is that those same cars that fair badly in accidents with SUVs fair badly in the standard test, too. Some cars are just bloody deathtraps, no matter who you get into a wreck with.

Unfortunately, bills in the Senate and House relating to the auto industry are at the mercy of the auto industry. The number of fuel efficiency measures that have been struck down is just staggering.

Hopefully, the future will phase out the beastly SUVs and convert to the safer, more fuel efficent wagon style.
