He will continue to press Europe to withdraw, through these statements coupled with violence. The left will buy into it and Europe will quickly capitulate. The U.S. will be left dealing with the problem without a large number of allies who provide essential financial support. The result will be a prolonged conflict with significant tax & lifestyle impacts for Americans. BL does *NOT* want Bush to loose the upcoming election, because a democractic president would repair the rift he is now exploiting. For that reason I don't think you'll see an attack on U.S. soil until after November. We need to get into Pakistan and finish this off, which means we will end up handing Iraq to the Shia. The June 30th date will go forward, probably with an election. When Bush says changing the date plays into the interests of those who are responsible for the violence in Iraq what he means is that the June 30th date is in the interests of those responsible for the violence in Iraq and if we change it we can expect the violence to become intractable. The Shia will oppress the Sunni, and Iraq will be a mess for years. Bush will be historically blamed for this despite the fact that Iran is really responsible and Bush doesn't have any choices because he doesn't have the *cash* needed to manage the problems they are creating while also dealing with BL, because the Europeans have succumbed to BL's plottings and aren't supporting the war on terrorism. A Democrat will replace Bush in 4 years because by then Iraq will be a festering mess and Bush will be blamed for it. He'll repair the relationship with Europe. However, Iraq will continue to be a problem, and Africa will soon produce its own leaders to replace BL. It is absolutely essential at this stage that the United States start communicating more effectively with both the West, the Middle East, and Africa. Communicating with the street in Africa. |
