How much money you'd have if you'd spent it on Apple's stock instead of one of their products.
It's a handy mash-up. The basic point was illustrated last April at the Economist, by Jason Baptiste: If you spent the money on an original iPod in 2001 on Apple stock ($499), you would have $14,513.78 today.
I liked this enough to include it in my annual wrap-up post, One for the Money, Two for the Love of Programming, in late December. |
