[ one of the other students selected for the summer internship i did at auburn was a biblical literalist. this was an NSF internship to work on physics research, btw, so, yeah, not too different from your situation. anyway, i made the mistake of engaging this gentleman in a discussion about the subject, only to find that logic and reason were completely foreign to his religion, and not at all welcome.
