] I don't know about you but one of my peeves is people who ] are flakes, or, in other words, people who don't honor ] your time, whether it's in business or in relationships. Ok, so we all have flakey people in our lives, and after hearing my housemate storm into the house bitching and kicking shit because he was so pissed about someone flaking out on him, I decided to see if I could find any articles on the subject. Being a musician, I understand how much of an annoyance flakes can be, and let me tell ya, SF is loaded with flakes. Search the musicians section on Craig's List for the word "flakes". Is flakiness an orientation, a preference, a defense mechanism? I don't know. What makes someone commit, then not show? I imagine that some kind cognitive death spiral over comes the subject and then they work themselves into a frenzy and then they have no choice but to shell away and hide. I don't know where I am going with this, but there is bound to be some research or good articles somewhere. Here is the first one I came across. |
