] The death of professional hockey in AMERICA is a nasty ] omen for people with heavy investments in NHL teams. "Good ] thinking," I said to myself as I fired up a thin Cohiba. ] "He's bound to be wide awake and crackling at this time ] of day, or at least I can leave a very excited message." I had a dream last night. I was 5 years old. It was summer. There was no air-conditioning in our little bungalow on the small crescent-shaped street in the suburbs of Toronto. And so to cool ourselves, we ran through the freshly hanging sheets on the backyard clotheslines. I had no idea that every one of my neighbors had the same apricot-colored linen that we did. Towels too! It was beautiful; as far as the eye could see, rows and rows of shimmering golden-orange fabric dancing in the light. I hoped it would stay like that forever, or maybe another week or so max. Rick Moranis is funny? Heh heh ... New Jersey ... Heaven's Gates |

Who would have thought that? ? ? I am in utter shock at this news. LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A New Jersey man has filed a false advertising lawsuit against a maker of herbal penis enlargement pills, alleging the medicine does not fulfill its promises, the plaintiff's lawyer said on Monday. Two similar cases, filed last year in Colorado and Ohio, accuse manufacturers of herbal dietary supplements, VigRx and Enzyte, of falsely claiming to be able to add substantial length and girth to a man's penis. I'm glad you're concerned, but ] you should have found a nicer way to convey it to others. Clearly my post has been misunderstood, and for that I apologize. You guys are taking this way more personally and way more seriously then it was intended to be taken. I don't work for any of these charities, I'm not associated with any cause, I have no vested interest in raising this money, and I don't really think you're a jerk if you don't donate. This post was essentially a straight forward explanation of how I felt about this. I had been toying for several days with the idea of memeing this donations page. The problem was that when that idea popped into my head I realized that I could not, in good conscience, meme that page if I did not donate, and so I needed to decide if I wanted to do that, and I never came to a conclusion about it. When someone else memed the page it pushed the issue, and I realized that I should donate. I felt like failing to do so up to that point was poor on my part, and that feeling prompted the jerk commentary. This was an emergency that was not predictable and is not a persistent problem, in a society where people do not have insurance. They really do need help in the form of one off financial donations. This is not a systemic problem like poverty in America, which requires long term solutions. Nor due I buy into things I've heard from several different people about how these people are responsible for their fates because they lived near the sea. There is a reasonable risk that the exact same thing will occur on the East Coast of the U.S. in the coming decades, and you don't hear people complaining that everyone in New York and New Jersey is "stupid for living near the water..." This one of the only times you'll ever see where a one off donation of $20 out of your pocket really is exactly what is needed, and really is the right way to handle the problem. RE: Tsunami Relief |

This God Damned Election, A Note From America |

I want to watch High Noon now more then any other time. I've read that its a presidential favorite going back to Ike; the first man who really understood the power of media in politics. Never seen it. Maybe if I can get my hands on a copy I'll make it an election night thing. It would be perfect for TV number three. Oh yes.. That might be useful background. Watching TV, as much as it does hurt, is best done in concert with other things. I've been desiring the three television setup. Elvis had it, the president has it, I want it. He used to sit in a yellow room watching them with a gun in one hand, and a drink in the other. I have a general idea of what it was that finally made him pop off a round. Elvis that is, not the president. I wonder how much he gestured with the gun. I don't have the three television setup, but I can fake it to a degree thanks to laptops. I certainly don't have the evil boardroom wall o' tv thing that's been made popular in movies. Almost all of my viewing is done in the kitchen, on a little TV. Its like watching TV in a foxhole. I sat in the same kitchen, watching the same TV, and typing furiously on the same laptop while watching the Iraq war. What a show that was. Several scenes are forever burned into my memory, such as watching the 3rd ID burn across the desert of Iraq in realtime while sitting in my kitchen foxhole listening to River Euphrates. Priceless. Its been one hell of an election cycle. I've disliked administrations. Hell, that comes naturally. However, I've never actually been scared of one before. I'm glad I can still be surprised. Politics have never been so engaging. Clinton and his dick don't even compare. This is about the time I'm used to hearing people start complaining about the electoral system. Oh yes, it has its problems sure. At the very least realize that your state does speak for itself in how its elections go, so try not to shit up your section of the fucking union. Ok? That is the way it works. Its your state versus all the others. If you state sucks, its your problem. Its your state. Shutup. (Yes, yes.. Florida. Don't be too hard on them.. They have had a bad year. And don't put too much stock into the whole message from God thing either. If anything, it was just a scream. Could mean anything.) At the very least, I'm happy to be in Jersey. We seem to have outdone ourselves yet again in brilliantly sucking. Our past few years continue to expose us for the pit of corruption we are, but we continue inventing new ways to get out of it. How America of us. This time around, we have been holding up as a swing state to the very end, even though we all know Jersey will go blue. Being needlessly contentious is our style. Check out those polls. The way scale works here, every one of those bumps represents hundreds of fist fights. I know, I was a participant in one that broke out during the last debate. I love a good ...
